Well-known for its exquisite making and fine appearance, Xinyang Mao Jian is a popular green tea for the domestic market. Started from the eighth century and finalized about 200 years ago, this tea won a gold medal in Panama Pacific International Exposition, San Francisco, in 1914 and selected in top-ten in 1958. Through the harvest continues from spring to fall, tea from spring and fall has the better taste. The standard picking is one shoot with one young leaf.
